About the Department
Spettro is the official society of the management department of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College. Every year, Spettro organizes a range of activities so as to polish the innate skills of all the students of BMS and improve industry-academia interaction. Spettro helps to accomplish the ultimate aim of BMS viz., develop effective human, technical and conceptual skills, accompanied with comprehensive knowledge so as to perform the core functional areas of management.

14/05/2020: Bond Session (Season 1 Episode 2)
TCC, the placement cell of management studies, took initiative to conduct various bond sessions-the alumni webinar series. The aim was to make the current batches connect with the alumni who have done well in their respective fields. In the first episode of the Bond Series, Ms. Divya Jain was invited, who shared her Cat prep, B School experience and valuable career insights. She had completed her MBA from IIM-Indore (2020 Batch) and is a PPI holder at Xiaomi. There was participation of around 50 students.

In the second episode of the Bond Series, Ms. Poorva Gupta (Batch 2018) was invited, who shared her GMAT,ISB-YLP, Internship experiences and valuable career insights focusing on the topic Startup vs Corporate with us. There was participation of around 55 students.

In the third episode of the Bond Series, Mr. Karan Saharan (Batch 2010) was invited, who shared his experience of founding 3 startups, his ‘Long stay’ initiative at OYO and his insights on why he quit his steady job as a manager at EY.There was participation of around 60 students.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell conducted first of its kind online IPL (bidding event) exclusively on Instagram. The event was conducted using only the features provided by the Social Media Platform in which 200+ students from all over India participated.

ORIZZONTE 2020
27/10/2020: Orizzonte 2020
Orizzonte is a one of a kind management fest incubated exclusively for school students to transport them into the world of business and management. With onset of pandemic, the first ever online Orizzonte’20 was organised. The Department of Management Studies feels extremely proud to state that Orizzonte'20 was massively successful, witnessing the participation of 300+ school students and 25+ schools across the capital. Students of Venkateswara International School and JB International School shined through and made their schools proud by bagging maximum number of prizes. Brigadier K.D.Malhotra ,Member Governing Body, DDUC was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He also distributed prizes to the successful students in the valedictory session. Mrs Rajni Sodhi, Member, Governing Body, DDUC was Guest of Honour on the Occassion . E-Certificates were presented to all the participants.

19/11/2020: Orientation 2020
The Department of Management Studies welcomed the batch of 2023 in a first ever online orientation session. The faculty and office bearers of Spettro explained in detail the working and ideology of Department of Management Studies at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College to the new batch. All the teachers of the department interacted with the fresher's to acquaint them with various subjects, promotion rules , activities and the essentials of being a BMS student at DDUC.
The Department has four active societies viz., Training and Career Cell (TCC), the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), the Social Responsibility Cell (SRC) and 180DC under the umbrella of Spettro. A series of webinars were conducted by these societies during induction week to acquaint the students with what lies ahead of them.
23/11/2020: EDC Orientation 2020
EDC organised its orientation ceremony on 23rd November for the freshers, hosted by the President, Dhananjay Tanwar and Vice President Vaishnavi Singhal. The event witnessed participation of 300+ students from first, second and third years. It was addressed by the cell's convener Dr. Yogieta S Mehra.
Mr Aditya Arora, CEO of FAAD Network Pvt. Limited inspired the audience with his motivational address. This was followed by interactive fun activities and the winners were awarded with prizes.
25/11/2020: SRC Orientation 2020
SRC conducted its orientation on 25th November 2020.
The speakers for the session included Mr Prafful Garg, CEO and founder of Bookmypg and Younity; and VJ Aman , National President Youth-Aasmaan Foundation. The orientation session was also graced by NGOs like MAD, Aashman Foundation & Volunteer. Heads from these NGOs interacted with students and provided internship opportunities to the freshers. There was participation of more than 100 students.
DECEMBER
02/12/2020: TCC Orientation 2020
TCC aims at enabling the students to explore the emerging opportunities in the corporate sector. The orientation session familiarised the new recruits with everything that goes into making fruitful corporate connections, resume building and much more. There was participation of around 50 students.
06/12/2020: 180 Degrees Consulting Orientation 2020
180 dc conducted its orientation cum alumni interaction for the new members and provided them with insightful details on the working and vision of our organization. The members were informed about the essence of being a consultant and the importance of helping the community with one’s knowledge. The students also interacted with our alumni Ankit, Sahil and Vaibhav who are working at Korn Ferry, Bain and Mckinsey respectively. There was participation of around 100 students.
27/12/2020: Freshers’21
The department of Management Studies conducted Freshers welcome for the new students where they interacted with all their batchmates, seniors as well as super seniors and took the first step towards creating life long, meaningful relationships. There was participation of more than 60 students.

19/01/21: In- House Case Competition
180dc conducted their official in-house case competition where the students were divided into several teams and a mentor assigned to each of them. The teams were made to face a comprehensive and analytical business problem and were expected to present their solution after a stipulated period. The students got a deep insight into the aspects of research, presentation, and problem solving. The winners of the competition were also assigned a client seeing their skills and teamwork. This competition is the first step towards making DDUC a focal point for greater international collaboration and learning. There was participation of around 30 students.

15/02/21: Mélange 2021
Melange is the annual management festival of Spettro. 8th edition of Mèlange, i.e; Mèlange'21 was conducted on 15th February after a break of 3 years. Even though the event was conducted in virtual mode but nonetheless it succeeded in being one of the best management fest of the season. The event witnessed participation of around 1000+ students from the best colleges all over India. 4 events were conducted in this mega fest, namely:-

01/03/21 - 05/03/2021: Blueprint’21
The annual entrepreneurship festival organised by EDC viz., Blueprint'21 went far beyond anyone's imagination and the E-week was full of intriguing events with each day focusing on different aspects of management and entrepreneurship. The event saw a participation of 1800+ participants from all over the country. Overall 10 events were organised throughout this e-week. To mark the beginning of this fiesta an opening ceremony was conducted on the morning of Day 1 and the day concluded with a live musical performance by the band Bad Trip.
06/03/2021: Consultancy Session
TCC conducted a session on consultancy, where Mr. Gagandeep Singh shared his experience on consultancy careers. Mr Gagandeep Singh, Global Operations Excellence Lead Wood-P&O global shared service, is an internationally renowned leadership coach and management consultant. He has 12+ years of work experience as a management consultant in Shared services/captive environment. He has worked in various industries such as oil and gas, real estate, professional services, banking and financial services. He has also worked for various companies such as EY, Wood, Bank of America and American Express. There were around 50+ students in the session.
07/03/2021: Just in Case
180dc conducted their first official global case competition Just In case’21which was a massive success as they were able to bring in participants from all over the globe and conduct a smooth functioning of the event with all the participants leaving the stage with more knowledge and experience. The organizing committee also learned a lot about management and marketing through this initiative. The competition had participation from USA, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal etc. A total of 600 students participated in the competition.
08/03/21 - 09/03/2021: Social Internship Conclave
SRC organised their flagship event, the Social Internship Conclave 5.0 on 8th and 9th March 2021. SIC is the annual internship fiesta organized by the cell to provide a platform for students and NGOs to interact and exchange services. This programme helped in initiating the idea of social entrepreneurship amongst the students and bridging the gap between a student's academics and his/her social responsibility. One of the main agendas behind this programme was to provide internships to students in well reputed & Government authorized NGOs so as to enhance their social and working skills. This year, NGO’s like Aasmaan Foundation, Gautam Gambhir Foundation, Youth for Seva, Sankalp Hamara and many more provided internships to 100+ students from all over the DU circuit under this program.
28/05/21 - 30/05/2021: Aashayein ‘21
In light of the ongoing pandemic, SRC organised a fundraising event for those who were affected by this pandemic. Aashayein was a fundraising event where many artists came together to raise the voices of those who were deeply affected by this pandemic. They performed for the sake of the welfare of our country and urged the audience to donate for a noble cause. Aashayein was tremendously successful with over 30+ Artists performing for the audience. The event saw a viewership of more than 1000 people.
30/05/2021: Bond Session (Season 2 Episode 1)

In the second webinar, Surbhi Bafna( batch of 2013) and Abhinav Budhiraja (batch of 2013) were invited. They shared their insights on their entrepreneurial journey and how one can become a successful entrepreneur. They also discussed their startups.
23/06/21: International Webinar on Universal Access to vaccines and Global Politics
Department of Management Studies in collaboration with Universal Access to Vaccines and Medicine (UVAM) and Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan organised an International Webinar. The speakers, Prof. V.K. Kaul (Dept. of Finance and Business Economics,DU) and Prof. Ashwani Mahajan (Dept. of Economics PGDAV College, Policy Interventionist and Author gave insights on a very important and global concern, Vaccination of COVID-19. More than 100 students attended the webinar.
26/06/2021 - 04/07/2021:Internal Summit
180 DC DDUC organised an Internal summit witnessing the participation of 30 consultants in which their mentors provided training on topics related to consulting. This summit was organised not only for training, but also to serve as a platform for networking of consultants with alumni. The cell also prepared an Internal Summit Capsule which covered all the deep insights which 180 DC DDUC gained from their mentors along with a Consulting Primer. The capsule received a great response as 180 DC DDUC had 250+ people asking for its copies.
27/06/2021:TCC Bond Session (season 2 episode 3)
In the third webinar, Mr. Vaibhav Goel (Batch of 2017) and Ms. Kritika Saini (Batch of 2013), were invited. They shared different job profiles that are offered after pursuing CFA and FRM. They both talked about the value addition that one might observe in themselves after pursuing these courses.

19th August, 2019: Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the department of Management Studies organised an orientation programme for the new batch on the theme “Divulging Enthusiasm & Experience”. Mr. Aman Dhattarwal, the young YouTube sensation and founder Apni Kaksha was the speaker for the session.
22nd August, 2019: The Training and Career Cell of the department organised a Case Study workshop. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Amit Poddar, Senior Regional Head with T.I.M.E. During the session, Mr. Poddar discussed the way to approach a given case study. The session was interactive and proved to be beneficial for the students.
23rd August 2019: Training And Career Cell (TCC), the Placement Cell of the department conducted its orientation which acquainted students to the role of TCC. The session was followed by a case study competition to test the students' logical and analytical skills in order to arrive at relevant and innovative solutions through collaborative team efforts.
28th August, 2019: EDC is a platform for honing the skills of young entrepreneurial minds. To further this motive, Prof. Neerja Arora, PGDM, IIM Calcutta and Prof. Siddhartha Jain were invited for a session. They highlighted the importance of self-confidence, one of the most common quandaries in today's generation, and stressed on developing the ability to express oneself better.
28th August, 2019: The orientation of the Social Responsibility Cell was held where a presentation comprising the society’s vision, annual events and initiatives taken by the society were highlighted. It followed by a short interactive session among the council members of the society and the participants to explain the importance of empowerment and integration of individuals with the help of education, vocational training and increasing awareness among masses.
31st August, 2019: Net Impact Delhi University organized an event at our college in collaboration with Social Responsibility Cell (SRC) society of the department. Net Impact is a nonprofit organization for students and professionals interested in using business skills in support of various social and environmental causes. From its central office in Oakland, the organization supports over 300 autonomous volunteer-run chapters and a membership base of over 100,000. It has about 400+ chapters spread across around 40 countries with Net Impact Delhi University being one of its chapters. 33 students from various colleges across Delhi participated in the event which included the orientation of Net Impact and was followed by an activity which required the students to generate business and start-up ideas. All the participants were divided into groups of three and each group was asked to come up with a unique and realistic business model and make a presentation.
2 September 2019: Spettro, the subject society of the department of Management Studies organized its student induction program. The event was aimed to familiarise the first-year students to the Bachelor of Management Studies course and foster interaction with among them. The program comprised an array of fun and thrilling activities like B-Quiz, Ad Mad (wherein the students were asked to sell some interesting products) and a treasure hunt. The freshers zestfully participated in all the events and achieved its objective of team building and developing a special bond among the students.
17th September, 2019: A visit was organised to Innov8, a Co-working space located at the upscale Connaught Place area. The audience comprised 55 students in all, from BMS Semester III and B.Com (H) Semester I. The students were engaged in an interactive session with the core team of Innov8 which included the founders; Head Marketing and Operations and the Community Manager. The team at Innov8 provided insight into the students regarding the corporate world, entrepreneurship, placements, interview preparation and internships. They also discussed about their personal career paths and how to go about developing an idea into a start-up. Students also got an opportunity to access an online platform to apply for internships with Innov8. Students explored and learnt through a tour of the campus and also connected with the Chief Design Head and Community Manager.
24th September, 2019: A workshop on "Careers in Management Education and required Skills" for the students was organised. The workshop was conducted by Prof. Vinay Nangia (Professor Emeritus, NSUT, Dwarka and IIT Roorkee). He is an illustrious alumnus of Benaras Hindu University having over 45 years of managerial experience in banking, finance and industry. 35 students participated in the session.
Professor Nangia shared his global industrial experience and talked about the importance of building a good CV while highlighting the common mistakes that people make in their resumes. He also discussed future of careers in Corporate, especially in the areas of finance and consultancy. At the end of the session, several students queried from the guest regarding higher education, careers in management and entrepreneurship. Overall, it was an interactive and informative session and students went off gladly with lot of takeaways.
30th September, 2019: Witnessing over a footfall of over 150+ students, the summit was graced by entrepreneurs, industrialists, and various corporate leaders. The speakers elaborated on topics like corporate myths, entrepreneurial journey, and various challenges faced in the corporate and start up world.
Amongst the esteemed guests, we had Dr. Ritesh Malik, Founder Innov8 Co-working; he is on the Forbes 30 list, he spoke about his journey and growth in the start-up industry. The highlight of the day was Mr. Aditya Arora (CEO - Faad Network Pvt. LTD.), He engaged the audience in various activities and charged up the atmosphere, while Mr. Sailbal Sengupta, (Chief Financial Officer, Orient Electrics), shared inputs from his journey of rising up the ladder of management. The students gained valuable insights from his life experiences.
Mr. Ayush Chowdhury, Founder, DforDelhi and Mr. Shivansh Garg, Founder, Young Engine who highlighted upon the tough journey of a start-up founder and how entrepreneurship is the new buzzword for creating employment and opportunities for the betterment of the globe. Mr. Himanshu Kashyap from Speakin, apprised the audience about his start-up and how it has made it easy to connect with speakers.
1st October, 2019: E-Affaire received participation from various E-Cells of different colleges from Delhi/NCR. The event featured E-Cells from FMS, Netaji Subhash University of Technology, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, College of Vocational Studies, Keshav Mahavidyalaya. A total of 12 E-Cells participated in this extravaganza. The meet began with an interactive session of E-Cells where they discussed their vision and upcoming events. The discussion was followed by various events aimed at testing the entrepreneurial and managerial skills of all the teams.
3rd October, 2019: Social Responsibility Cell is a platform for invoking the principal value of social conscience in the generations to come. Recognizing this very need, after several days of hard work, Social Responsibility Cell of our department organized the 4th edition of its annual internship fiesta as well as flagship event, the Social Internship Conclave. Ten NGOs and NPOs graced our college and apprised the students about their noble work and provided valuable internship opportunities to the students. The event received participation from students from other colleges as well.
At SRC DDUC, we have always believed in saying no to single-use plastic. Keeping the tradition alive, each of the NGO was presented a sapling as a welcome token on stage. The students were briefed by each NGO about their objectives, programs, recent initiatives and future plans. Notable names like Trax: The Road Safety NGO of India, Humanity Foundation, The Rising People Welfare Association etc. graced the occasion with their presence.
210 students attended the event and 170 students appeared for interview of various NGOs to secure winter internship. In all, 81 students were selected for winter internships and out of these 19 students were from other colleges. The event was a grand success and a step forward in accomplishing our aim of making the students accountable to the society. Also, it was a wholesome experience for the new batch of students who secured their first internships in some of the top organisations working for a noble cause in Delhi-NCR.
11th November, 2019: TravClan Technology India Pvt. Ltd. is a rapidly growing travel tech company that acts as a pioneering B2B platform in the travel industry. Using technology, they provide travel agents access to great products and best price. The profile offered was Account Management Associates, Marketing Associates, and Finance Associates with a CTC of INR 3.3 lakh. Out of 10 students who applied 1 candidate was selected after the rigorous selection procedure.
19th November, 2019: Off Campus Recruitment drive Ken Research was organised exclusively for BMS Students. Ken Research provides bespoke industry intelligence, equity research reports and business consulting services on gamut of sectors across the globe. The firm offered the profile of Market Research Associate with a CTC of 5.2 Lakh [4.2 Lakh (fixed)+ 1 Lakh (variable)]. 7 students of BMS had applied for the position.
January 4-5, 2020:
The Department of Management Studies collaborated with Delhi School of Planning and Research Studies, GGS Indraprastha University to conduct ICSSR sponsored XXI Annual International Conference on broad theme: “Achieving Excellence in Higher Education” at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, New Delhi.
There were 5 technical sessions namely, Innovations & Best Practices in Higher Education; Higher Educational Institutions: Benchmarking & Way Forward; Outcome Based Education vs. Competency Based Learning; Engaging & Assessing Learners; Issues & Challenges; Research Paper Presentations on contemporary issues. Over 100 research papers were presented during the two-day conference with many foreign delegates attending and chairing the sessions.

Alumni Interaction: Vibhu Sehgal (Batch of 2019)
Topic: How to make your CV stand out?
In January 2019, Vibhu Sehgal secured a job with TresVista through campus placement with a pay package more than 6 lacs p.a. He relocated to Pune for work and while on the job cracked CAT with exceptional score. During his interaction, he gave the junior batches an insight into how to approach and make the three years while pursuing graduation. He highlighted the need to be aware of the changing times and how a social internship not only enriches the CV but also introduces the students to a whole new perspective towards life. The students gained first-hand information about the tasks that a Research Analyst undertakes and also learnt how the present course curriculum aptly befits the preparation for the same.

EDC organised a guest lecture on the theme Essential Communication Skills for Employment Readiness by Dr. Atul Sharma. He holds PhD from the University of Lucknow and has an experience of over 34 years in the Corporate as well as the Education sector. He holds a vision of transforming management education by imparting strong values and skills to the students. Moreover, he is a highly experienced and credited author and certified trainer in leadership building. During his lecture, he focused on the relevance of communication in daily life and also in Corporate sector. He explained the basic structure of communication and termed it as Define Refine & Confine. He also demonstrated an activity developed by him known as "Communication Relay" thrugh which students can hone communication skills.

Alumni Interaction: Anukriti Garg (Batch of 2017)
Topic: Building a career in Social Work
Anukriti had developed keen interest in social work projects during her graduation between 2014 -2017. She had interned with a few NGOs like Make a Difference, Jamghat, KSCF, Manthan etc. After completion of graduation she joined VSO, UK and worked as a facilitator with children and youth. She focused on issues like life skills, gender and violence through behavioural change. During her interaction with the junior batch, she focused on how individual interests should not be allowed to perish under the burden of peer pressure and social compulsions. She encouraged the students follow their instinct and passion in order to avoid burnouts and emotional fatigue. She shared her experience of spending 3 months at a village community and learning about the rural life and its challenges. The students enquired about how they could work with NGOs and what would be the skill set required for it.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the department organised Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) in association with Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Professional Studies, Dwarka, New Delhi; sponsored by EDII Ahmedabad and under the aegis of NSTEDB & DST NIMAT.
The three day camp focused on pertinent issues like traits of potential entrepreneurs; identification of lucrative opportunities; product selection and technology-assistance; setting up of SSI units - Technical, Commercial and Financial aspects; seeking support and financial assistance from banks and FIs; and success stories of entrepreneurs and common problems faced by them (Creativity and business success approach).
The key speakers included Ms.Kalpana Sinha, Director Excel Systems India Pvt. Ltd, Incubation & Entrepreneurship Eco System Specialist; Mr. Mahendra Kumar Gupta, Sr. Asst Professor, ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad; Accredited Entrepreneurial Trainer, NIESBUD, Noida Founder UDAYAM Consultancy and Mr Sidharth Gera, Founder & Designer, Logo Designing Agency. The students were provided a glimpse into the entrepreneurial world and the skills it requires.
4th February, 2020: Training and Career Cell in association with Ashoka University conducted a session about the Young India Fellowship program. Its aim was to disseminate information about the utility and suitability of the program. Mr Bhaswar Faisal Khan, Deputy Manager, YIF admissions answered the queries of students regarding the fee structure and online applications among many more.
13th February, 2020: Mr Yashwant Pulumati, Senior Manager at The Indian School of Business was at the department to share insights of the YLP (Young Leaders Program) a deferred admission program offered by ISB. He also talked about the upcoming trend in B-schools in India and world over. He discussed the importance of profile building and essay while applying in B-schools and shared his experiences of the same. Students showed enthusiasm by asking questions ranging from admission criteria to B-schools, where one needs to improve his/her skills, career perspective and management. It was an informative session and students learnt a lot from him.
28th -29th February, 2020: Blueprint’20 was organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell. The event received participation from colleges like NSUT, JMC, SRCC, SSCBS amongst others. The aim of creating a unique, enriching and fun-filled experience for all the participants was well accomplished by the event. Blueprint’20 organised five events over two days namely, Mastermind, Herobidz, The Philip Kotler Show, The Startup Story and Earth 2050. The events celebrated the spirit of entrepreneurship, putting to test all possible aspects of it, right from marketing skills to their financial acumen.
MASTERMIND was the flagship event of blueprint 2020 focusing on politics and management. It involved various rounds which tested various skills like analytics, critical thinking and negotiation amongst many others. HEROBIDZ was an absolute treat for those who are ardent fans of Marvel and DC series. It combined the superheroes and villains elements with the financial aspects of an enterprise. The PHILIP KOTLER SHOW proved to be the best marketing event of all times. It tested how innovatively a participant can mix two unique products and marketing it effectively. The STARTUP STORY was a unique event to predict the market share, find challenges and advantages through a series of activities. EARTH 2050 fast forwarded the participants to the year of 2050, the year of wars. Participants were required to manage their own resources and army under different situations.
5th March, 2020: “Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile”. The Social Responsibility Cell team went a notch up to organise the very first edition of INNOVISION’20 to light up the spark of social accountability within the students. The motive of the event was to spread awareness about social justice among the students.
Our guest Ms Sana Hazari is an ex-investment banker from KPMG India and the founder of an impact advisory group- the Social Corporation. Her venture aims to bring social organisations and corporates to the forefront of digitization, by strategizing sustainable business models. Mr Varhaen Khanna, a trustee of the New Delhi Nature Society, his mission is to cure 'tree blindness' by engaging them in fun activities that promote respecting the environment around them. The growing community explores all aspects of connecting with nature.
Both the speakers took out time and honoured us with their gracious presence. They enlightened us with their ideas of social responsibility and entrepreneurship. We got to learn about CSR, social fund raising, environment protection and about being socially cognizant while amalgamating with business acumen. This unique speaker session proved to be enriching and knowledgeable for all. They tried to spark our hidden social entrepreneur. Their success stories and how they served the society served as an inspiration to the participants.

31st August, 2018: E Summit Six budding entrepreneurs (alumni of BBS/BMS) graced the dais. Prominent among them being Neeraj Sancheti, a student in the third batch of BBS (2009-2012); Co-founder and CEO of Kreativ Street; which is one of the fastest growing marketing agencies in the country at present.
5th October, 2018: Social Internship Conclave 3.0 This year 11 Delhi based NGOs including Deepalaya, YouWeCan, Smile foundation, Womenite, Little Umbrella, and Hope foundation, participated in the event to provide winter internships to the college students. 78 students were selected in for their winter internships and out of these 11 were from other colleges.
10th October, 2018: AFFLUENCE’ 18; an intra-college event comprising 3 competitions was conducted to bring out the inherent entrepreneurial acumen and witnessed participation from students of various courses.
16th October, 2018: Annual Inter School Management Fiesta, Orizzonte’18 was organised in the college premises. The event covered all aspects of management like finance, marketing, interpersonal skills with an emphasis on communication and team building. The event witnessed participation of more than 600 students from 50 schools of Delhi and NCR. Inaugural session of Orizzonte’18 was graced by the presence of Prof. I.M Kapahy, Member, UGC and Mrs. Savita Drall, Deputy Director of Education of District South as guest of honor for the occasion. The inaugural session was followed by inter-School competitions like Debating, Business Quiz, Product Designing, Stalking the Stock and many more such events, highlighting some of the key areas and emerging possibilities in business and management.
17th November, 2018: One-day FDP on MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) was held on themes: changing Role of a Teacher, video content preparation and use of Moodle: a free MOOC platform. The Resource Person for the FDP was Prof. K. Srinivas, Head, ICT & Project Management Unit at National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration which is a deemed to be University under MHRD, Govt. of India.
4th-5th January, 2019: The Department of Management Studies collaborated with Delhi School of Planning and Research Studies, GGS Indraprastha University to conduct ICSSR sponsored XXth Annual International Conference on the theme: “Global Vision 2030: Challenges and Opportunities” at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, New Delhi. The topic for the international seminar session this year was “Sustainable Development 2030: The Road Ahead”. There were 7 technical sessions, and over 80 research papers were presented during the two-day conference with many foreign delegates chairing the sessions.
23rd January, 2019: A workshop on live trading in secondary market was conducted in association with Bombay Stock Exchange. The interactive session was conducted by Mr Varun Gupta, Senior Manager at BSE where he demonstrated the working of the BSE portal and elucidated on how to read data related to a particular stock.
5th March, 2019: Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Department of Management Studies successfully organised its annual inter-college event Blueprint’19. Around 150 students from 15 reputed colleges of Delhi University participated in the 3 competitions namely, Hero Bidz, Country Bingo and Biz Hunt.
7th March, 2019: The Drawdown Challenge was hosted in the college premises by Net Impact, Delhi University in collaboration with Social Responsibility Cell of the department. Drawdown Innovate is about generating original ideas that scale climate solutions through new ventures, using design thinking and business planning. Through a learning motivated environment, views were exchanged. Around 30 students from various colleges participated in the event.

August 2018: Three training sessions on "Research and Data Analytics" for BMS Sem III students were conducted by Mr Vipin Meena, Convener, TCC.
9th August, 2018: Career Counselling session in association with Time Education Pvt. Limited was conducted by Mr. Anand Mohan De. The aim of the session was to hone the skills required for securing employment.
17th September, 2018: Workshop on “Banking Awareness and Career in Banking” was conducted by Ms. Moumita Datta, Deputy Manager (Durgapur Branch), State Bank of India; an executive member of All India Bank Officer's Association and a trainer in SBI Staff Academy.
9th October, 2018: Genpact Enterprise Risk Consulting (GERC) conducted campus recruitment; 9 students including 1 student of B.Com (H) were selected after the rigorous selection procedure comprising three rounds.
27th November, 2018: Ken Research which provides bespoke industry intelligence, equity research reports and business consulting services on gamut of sectors across the globe, conducted off campus recruitment for BMS students, 2 students bagged final placement.
14th January, 2019: MBAtrek Private Limited conducted campus recruitment for 15 applicants from BMS. 1 student got selected.
17th January, 2019: TresVista provides highly skilled outsourcing support to financial services firms; It conducted off campus placement for BMS, 8 students secured placement.

14th January, 2019: Ms Ashima Jain (Batch of 2013) is currently working with Flexing It, an HR tech start-up based in Delhi – as a Business Development and Operations Manager. Her previous job was secured through campus placement, with S&P Global for 3.5 years in the Private Equity & Venture Capital domain.
21st February, 2019: Mr Aman Jhingon (Batch of 2017) is currently working with McKinsey & Company, Gurugram as a Research Analyst. He focuses on corporate and investment banking with an emphasis on capital markets. t.

26th September, 2018: A talk was organised on the topic, “What lies to be an effective Sales Person” by Ms. Monika Solanki, a seasoned professional with over 19 years of work experience in different industries like Pharma, Personal Care and FMCG.
26th September, 2018: A talk was organised on the topic, “Use of Derivatives in Managing Financial Risk”. The speaker Professor Alok Pandey is currently working with Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, New Delhi. Prof. Pandey highlighted the current scenario of derivative market in Indian context while explaining the different derivative products designed for hedging of financial risk.
12th March, 2019: Invited Talk by Ms Rumi Malik on the topic “ Career in Radio and broadcasting” was organised. Ms Rumi is a well-known radio personality with diverse interests like script writing, translation, theatre and spiritualism. She is currently associated with AIR FM Gold and Sahitya Academy. She pointed towards the immense growth in business of broadcasting including foray of private radio channels and the growth of the podcast business.
6th April, 2019: The departmental Alumni Meet witnessed participation from 55 alumni from various batches. Besides the cultural program put together by the present students, the alumni also enjoyed a variety of fun games with their peer group. The common takeaway from the interactions was that students must go all out to hone their skills as well as personality by exploring their interests during their stint at college. Students were keen to learn more about aspects like whether to choose a job over higher education.
25th April, 2019: A farewell function was organised for the batch of 2019 by the students of junior batches. Titles were given away and fun activities were arranged. The students left with a fervour in their heart and a pledge to keep coming back to their alma mater.
