Honorable Chief Guest, Professor Ved Prakash, Former Chairman, University Grants Commission is a D. Litt. in Chemistry and has been a full bright fellow at Michigan University. He has specialized in Higher Education, Educational Planning & Administration, Talent Identification and Educational Evaluation. He is an Author of 125 Publications. Prof. Ved Prakash has served the UGC in all capacities as its Secretary, Vice-Chairman and finally Chairman.  Prior to this he was Vice-Chancellor, National University of Educational Planning & Administration (NIEPA). During his 41 years of illustrious career, he has served in more than 10 different institutions. He has been honoured with almost twenty awards including the Bharatiya Gramay Ratan Award, 2004 for outstanding contribution in Education & Culture.  He has represented India at more than 30 countries in International Conferences, Seminars, Workshops and Consultative meetings. He has been nominee of the President of India and Chancellor of State Universities in the Search-cum-Selection Committee for Vice-Chancellors. Prof. Ved Prakash has delivered more than 100 Convocation/Endowment Addresses and he has also been the Chairman of Governing Councils of several important organisations such as:

Shri S C Nagpal, Chairman Governing Body is a high ranking civil servant and has retired as Special Secretary to Government of India. He did B.A. (H) Political Science and M.A. Political Science from University of Delhi; M.Sc. in Social Development from University of Wales Swansea, UK and Post Graduate Degree in National Security from National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi. He has worked across multiple domains like general and development administration, human resource development, higher and middle education, staff welfare programs, healthcare, finance management, personnel management and discipline issues, litigation and quasi-judicial administration. He has also been working with and chairing elected and official bodies and special task groups. He has been member of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (Central Schools’ organization), Cultural & Sports Board; Govt of India and Central Govt Health Scheme Advisory Committee. He has vast experience and interest in supervision and upgradation of institutions of primary, secondary and higher education; motivation and entrepreneurship; special campaigns for weak students; vocational skills of marginalized sections; promotion of research publications and inhouse research publications; personality growth programs. Currently, he is Chief Advisor to issue of Estate Management, ONGC; Chief Advisor to an Engineering, Management and Pharmacy College in NCR Delhi; Member - National Road Safety Council and Chairman Interview Boards for the IAS. He is a strong believer and a practioner of yoga and has keen interest in adventure sports. He regularly writes articles and stories in Hindi to national newspapers and magazines.
 
Dr. Kavita A. Sharma, President, South Asian University, New Delhi is an accomplished academician.  Dr. Kavita has been an active contributor to the cause of higher education through her teaching, publications and the institutions she has been associated with. Dr. Kavita Sharma started teaching in 1971 in Delhi University’s Hindu College and became its Principal in 1998 and served there till 2008 when she took up another challenging assignment as Director of India International Centre, New Delhi. She has published a number of books including Internationalisation of Education, Sixty Years of University Grants Commission, Hindu College, Delhi – A People’s Movement and The Windmills of the Mind. Her research papers spanning a wide range of topics: higher education, language, immigration and identity, culture and women, have made their way in many reputed national and international publications.  Dr. Sharma holds a Ph.D. Degree in English from the University of Delhi and an LLM degree from the University of British Columbia, Canada. A Fullbright Fellow, she was conferred the Indira Gandhi Sadbhavana Award by the National Integration and Economic Council in 2005. Widely travelled around the world, Dr. Sharma had also been an Honorary Visiting Lecturer at Tokyo’s Women’s Christian College and University of Indonesia. She is associated with many professional organisations including English Association, Indian Association of Canadian Studies, Indian Law Institute and Indian History Congress. She has been the Founder President of Parent’s Forum for Meaningful Education.
 
Dr. Meenakshi Gopinath graduated in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College, did her Master’s from Massachusetts University and then doctorate from University of Delhi.  She was recipient of Fulbright Scholarship and did post-doctoral research at Georgetown University. She started her teaching career from Jawaharlal Nehru University and eventually joined her alma mater, Lady Shri Ram College for Women as a Lecturer and eventually became its Principal in 1988.  She initiated many changes in the college including introduction of new courses such as “Conflict Resolution Studies”. She also established the Centre for Peace building at the college, an initiative, first of its kind in the country.  In 1999 she founded WISCOMP (Women in Security, Conflict Management and Peace).   She is the first woman to be appointed as a Member of the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) in 2004 and served in this capacity for four years. She is a member of the Governing Councils of Coexistence International of Brandeis University and International Steering Committee of the Global Action for the Prevention of War, USA.  She is the co-chairperson of the International Academic Council of the University of Peace, Costa Rica and is on the board of governors of several social and educational organisations such as Sarvodaya International Trust, Centre for Policy Research, Regional Centre for Strategic Studies, Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution, The Shri Ram School, Doon School and the Indo-German Consultative Group. She has published several books and articles related to International issues.  She was awarded fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri in 2007 by the Govt. of India.  She is also a recipient of Qimpro Platinum Standard Award, Rajiv Gandhi Award for Excellence in Education, Mahila Shiromani Award and the Delhi Citizen Forum Award.

Hon‘ble Chief Guest, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Cabinet Minister, Ministry of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Govt of India, Guests of Honour, Shri Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma, Member of Parliament and Smt. C Pant, Treasurer Governing Body distinguished guests, colleagues, parents and dear students. It is my privilege to welcome you all on the occasion of 27 th Annual Day of our college. Dr Harsh Vardhanji is an MBBS and MS with specialisation in ENT. During his five months tenure as a Health Minister, he initiated many reforms in the public health system of the country. He took over as Minister for Science &Technology and Earth Sciences in November 2014. He is committed to set a roadmap for the implementation of the ―Make in India‖ programme by building a robust  Research &Development infrastructure and promoting synergies between industry and scientific research institutions. He was elected as an MLA for five consecutive terms from Krishna Nagar constituency in East Delhi from 1993 to 2013 and MP from Chandni Chowk, Delhi in 2014. As Health Minister of Delhi, he pioneered the Pulse Polio programme in India. He was instrumental in passing of Delhi Prohibition of Smoking and Non-Smokers Health Protection Act culminating in a Central legislation banning smoking in public places in 2002. He also got implemented WHO‘s Essential Drug Programme, which revolutionised governments‘ attitudes on public health care. He has received innumerous awards for his contribution as Health Minister. He is the first Indian to have been nominated to the prestigious WHO body, the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE). Apart from this, he has served on the Global Technical Consultative Group and the Technical Consultative Group of the South East Asia region for polio eradication.
 
Dr Harsh Vardhan has presented research papers at several national and international scientific conferences. He has also contributed to the world‘s leading medical journals He contributes articles on environmentalism, medical ethics and progressive issues. He has also authored the books entitled ―A Tale of Two Drops‖and―Kahani Do Boondo ki‖. Shri Pravesh Sahib Singh Vermaji is an MBA in International Business from Fore School of Management, Delhi. Presently, he is an MP from West Delhi constituency of NCT of Delhi. He is a member of several parliamentary committees:the Standing committee on urban development, Joint committee on salaries and allowances of members of parliament, Consultative committee of ministry of urban development, Housing and urban poverty alleviation and joint committee on food management in parliament house complex. Smt. Garima Guptaji is a young and dynamic IAS officer. She has been a student of English Literature. She was selected for IAS in the first attempt at the age of twenty three. Prior to holding the charge of Director, Higher Education, she has held various positions as SDM in Goa and Delhi, Director (Industries), Secretary (Transport/Industries/Cooperative, Labour &
Employment), Deputy Commissioner EDMC and SMDC, Spl. Secretary (Health) in Delhi and so on.
 
Professor Yogesh Kumar Tyagiji is an LLM from Columbia University; an MPhil and a PhD from JNU. He is Member, l‘Institut de Droit International; General Assembly, ICCR; Institute Body, AIIMS; International Advisory Panel, American Law Institute; ASIL; Asian SIL; ESIL; ICWA; ILA; ILI; and ISIL. He is on the Editorial Boards of Chinese Journal of International Law (Oxford) and Human Rights and International Legal Discourse (Brussels). Prior to joining Delhi University, he held various important positions such as Dean, Faculty of Law, South Asian University; Dean, School of International Studies, JNU; Director, Human Rights Teaching and Research Centre, JNU; Professor, City University of Hong Kong; Member, Law Commission of India; Director, Research Centre, The Hague Academy of International Law; Executive Editor, Indian Journal of International Law. He has held visiting appointments at London School of Economics, Max Planck Institute for International Law, University of Tokyo, East China University, University of Georgia, among others. Besides his book, ‗The UN Human Rights Committee‘, he has published in British Yearbook of International Law, Cambridge Journal of International Law, Journal of World Trade, Michigan Journal of International Law, Social Science and Medicine, Texas International Law Journal, etc 
 
Prof. Brajesh C Chaudhary, Chairman Governing Body, is the Professor in Physics & Astrophysics at University of Delhi. Before joining the University he served Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, Batavia, IL, USA; California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA, USA; Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar; and University of California, Riverside, USA. He is Convenor and member of many committees of National and International importance. Under his guidance, 15 students have been awarded Ph.D. He has published more than 1000 research Papers in international and national refreed journals with with a total of 90,146 (86,575) citations and hHEP index = 139 (135). He is the Principal Investigator of 12 major international projects worth more than Rs 100 crores. He has contributed to the field of EHEP and held lead positions in various Experiments of international repute. His scientific contributions are internationally acknowledged and recognized.
 
Prof. N. C Pant, Treasurer Governing Body is the Professor in Geology at University of Delhi. Before joining the University he served IIT, Kharagpur, Geological Survey of India and ONGC.He is Convenor and member of many committees of National and International importance. Under his guidance 2 students have been awarded Ph.D. and one M. Phil. He has published more than 60 research papers in international and national refreed journals. He is the Principal Investigator of 3 major Projects worth Rs 68 Lacs. He is the recipient of 4 awards of international repute.

Hon’ble Chief Guest, Dr. Satyapal Singh ji, Member of Parliament and former Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, Guest of Honour, Mr Shiv Kumar, IAS, Director, Higher Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, Mr.R.N.Vats, Hon’ble Chairman of the Governing Body, distinguished guests, colleagues, parents and dear students.  It is my privilege to welcome you all on the occasion of 26th Annual Day of our college.  

Dr. Satyapal Singhji  is a Member Lok Sabha from Baghpat Constituency, Uttar Pradesh. He is M Sc., M.Phil (Chemistry), M.A. and Ph. D.inPublic Administrationand MBA (Strategic Management). He is educated at Meerut University, University of Delhi and fromUniversity of Wollongong, Australia.
He has been a Member of Joint Parliamentary Committee on Security of Parliament House Complex; Member, Standing Committee on Home Affairs; Member, Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament ; Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water and Sanitation; Member, Joint Committee on Office of ProfitandMember, U.P. State Minorities Committee.
His areas of interest range from Study of Religions, Terrorism, Extremism, Police, Education, Culture and Historyto Spirituality.  He has authored four books and is working on another four.  He has to his credit about 60 papers and articles on Social, Cultural and Philosophical Issues published in professional and other magazines, books and daily newspapers.
Mr. Shiv Kumar is a post-graduate in Geography and started his career in teaching profession as a PGT (Geography) in Central Schools.  He also qualified NET in 2004.  Subsequently, he qualified for the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) and since held various important positions in Administration.  He worked as SDM and then as Additional Collector in Goa.  He was Deputy Commissioner in Arunachal Pradesh and last year he has come to Delhi and after working for sometime in Sales Tax department he became the Director (Higher Education).
 
Mr. R.N. Vats, Chairman, Governing Body is also an Alumnus of the University of Delhi.  After doing graduation from Hansraj College, he did L.L.B. from the Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi.  He was elected President of the Students Union - Law Faculty. At present he is an Advocate, practicing in various High Courts and the Supreme Court of India.  He has been continuously associated with the University of Delhi as a Member of the University Court, to which he was elected from the Alumni.  He has been an elected member of the Executive Council from the University Court and is presently a member of the Finance Committee of the University of Delhi.  He has been Chairman of Governing Bodies of several colleges in the past, not only in University of Delhi but other institutions as well.  Last year he was elected as the ChairmanGoverning Body of our college.

Hon’ble Chief Guest, Shri Manish Sisodia ji the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Guest of Honour, Ms. Punya Salila Srivastava, IAS, Secretary, Education/Training & Technical Education/Higher Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, Prof. A.K. Pandey, Hon’ble Chairman of the Governing Body, distinguished guests, colleagues, parents and dear students.  It is my privilege to welcome you all on the occasion of 25th Annual Day of our college.  
 
Shri Manish Sisodia is the Deputy Chief Minister of  Delhi since February 2015. He holds the Finance,  Planning, Revenue, Services, Power, Education, Higher Education, Information Technology, Technical Education and Administrative Reforms portfolios in the Government of Delhi.
 
Shri Sisodia is a well-known activist who came to prominence during the Jan Lokpal Movement. He was a prominent journalist and was associated with Zee News and All India Radio for a long time. He quit journalism to participate in the movement for Right to Information. He was a key member of the team that laid the foundation of the Jan Lokpal Andolan. Mr. Sisodia was also sent to the jail with Shri Anna Hazare during anti-graft movement.  He first became a Minister in Delhi Govt. in December, 2013.
 
His passion for corruption-free society has been known throughout the country. Apart from being courageous voice against corruption, Mr. Sisodia has been passionately working for revolutionary changes in education system. He feels that education is the ultimate paradigm on which we can stand for a just and fair society.
 
Ms. Punya Salila Srivastava is a 1993 batch IAS officer from the AGMUT (Union Territory) cadre.  She has been a student of Physics and did her B.Sc. (H) and                  M.Sc. from St. Stephens College, University of Delhi.  While in services she has also done Masters in Public Management from University of Maryland, USA.  She has served the Govt. in various capacities such as Deputy Commissioner, Sub-divisional Magistrate, Managing Director, Commissioner-cum-Secretary in Delhi, Goa, Daman, Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and also with the Central Govt.  Presently, she is the Secretary, Education, Higher Education, Training & Technical Education,
 
She has published two papers in refereed journals and presented another two in International conferences.  She has also chaired innumerous committees and submitted at least five major reports based on which action was taken by the Govt.
 
She received the President’ silver medal for excellence in Census Operations in 2001 and a Commendation certificate of Lieutenant Governor, Andaman & Nicober Islands for outstanding leadership qualities in 2014.
 
Prof. A.K. Pandey, Chairman of Governing Body is a Professor of Botany in the University of Delhi.  He is extensively involved in Research having already supervised 16 students for their Ph.D and 5 for M.Phil.  Another 8 students are pursuing Ph.D with him as of now.  During the last five years alone, he has published 45 Research Papers in National & International refereed Journals.  He is a member of more than 20 Academic bodies including the NAAC Peer Team.
